The flowy minis sit high on the waist on an elastic band and fall away from the hip, so they suit a hot afternoon better than anything cut close. The athletic shorts are the plain ones, four and five inch inseams, with pockets that hold a phone still.

Every piece here has an elastic waist. That is not a compromise, it is the reason they travel well: nothing to adjust after a long lunch, and nothing to press after a suitcase.

How it fits

Elastic waists run true and forgive a size either way. If you are between sizes and want the skirt to sit at the natural waist rather than below it, take the smaller one.

What it does not do. A skort is not athletic wear with compression, and the flowy skirts are not lined. On a windy day, a mini is a mini.
